Today regardless of the type of credit you may have it’s not hard to find a company willing to give you car loans. However not every company offers regular and bad car loans with the latter being harder to get but is geared towards people who have bad credit. The problem with searching for car loans both online and offline is the fact that you can rarely qualify for those super low advertised interest rates. Those advertisements can be very misleading for the average person who does not have excellent credit primarily since we all miss out on our credit card payments every now and then.

The best way to find out if in fact you will qualify for the advertised interest rates is to get a copy of your credit report. Since car loan companies base the interest rates they offer to prospects on their credit report knowing how good or bad your report is will help you determine if in fact you can qualify for those interest rates. In addition to getting a copy of your credit report you need to find out what your FICO score needs to be in order to qualify for that interest rate. Since most companies offering car loans don’t really mention that on their website you will need to email them for details. You can also call up the online company and speak to someone who can answer any questions you may have about what they are offering.

The second thing you need to be aware of when you are interested in getting car loans from a company is their policies as far as repayment is concerned. You also need to know if the interest rates are fixed or variable. Normally car loans have a variable interest rate which varies depending on the government set rate. However there are some companies that offer a fixed interest rate which may be slightly more expensive but you can be rest assured that the rate will not change.

Always try to get quotes from at least three similar companies offering car loans before you make a decision. You should also take into consideration the company’s response time as well as how good they are at answering your questions. If you feel that they are not being totally honest with you there is no point doing business with them.
